Content Creator Coordinator (Producer)

Hiring now Lagos, on site Full time Open

About the role

The Role

Run the calendar, the quota and the formula for a five-person content unit in Lagos. You take over the management and creation of content for LekeeLekee's external social channels, plus a share of the in-house editorial on LekeeLekee itself. You assign the work, check every piece before it goes anywhere, and report the weekly number.

You lead a unit of five: you, three on-camera journalists and one content editor. It is a working producer's job, not a desk job. When a pillar needs a script, a shoot needs directing or the calendar has a hole on Thursday, you fill it. Reports to the Head of Content and works with the CPO and CEO. Manages 4 people.

What You'll Do

1. Run the calendar. Set the following week's calendar every Friday: the pillar mix, the formats, the platform slots and the owner of every piece. Keep a two-week bank of ideas. 2. Own the quota. Twenty pieces a week across video, graphics and infographics, balanced across the four pillars. 3. Write down and enforce the formula. Idea, script or brief, shoot or design, edit, approve, publish everywhere, measure. Document it once as the unit's playbook so ARISE and THISDAY can run the same process. Run the quality gate before anything is published. 4. Assign the work and check the output. Daily stand-up, brief each creator, review scripts, sign off edits, give the final approval. 5. Publish everywhere, natively. One master cut, dressed for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Snapchat and YouTube Shorts; LekeeLekee and YouTube for long form. 6. Report the weekly number. One page every Friday: pieces against quota, reach, completion, comments, and traffic and installs back to LekeeLekee. 7. Coordinate the in-house editorial on LekeeLekee itself. 8. Grow the unit. Coach on-camera craft, hire as the unit expands, ready the team for the podcast, the AI shorts and the games content.

Your First 90 Days

Day 30: the calendar runs a week ahead, the formula is a first-version playbook, the quality gate is live. Day 60: twenty pieces a week two weeks running, the Friday report is a habit the leadership team relies on. Day 90: the mix is set by the numbers, the playbook is shared with ARISE and THISDAY, the podcast two-pager is drafted.

About Lekeelekee

LekeeLekee is a digital community and content platform built for Africans at home and across the world, a space where culture, conversation, news and identity come together. Developed in partnership with ARISE Broadcast and THISDAY Media Group, we are focused on Nigeria and its diaspora, with a strong UK presence, and expanding across the continent and into African communities globally.

We are now building an in-house content unit in Lagos to run our external social channels and a share of the editorial on LekeeLekee itself. Five people, four pillars (Politics; Fashion, Lifestyle and Entertainment; Sports; Miscellaneous and Funny), one formula, twenty pieces a week across seven platforms. Everything it makes points back to the platform.

Why Join

  • Build the unit from the start. The calendar, the formula and the look are yours to set, not inherit.
  • Reach that a start-up cannot usually offer. ARISE News and THISDAY sit behind the platform, and the formula you run is designed to run for them too.
  • An audience worth making things for. Nigeria, the UK diaspora and Africans everywhere, with the under-25s next.
  • A clear number and the freedom to hit it. Twenty pieces a week, measured honestly, with room to experiment inside the formula.
  • Competitive salary benchmarked to market, with structure open to discussion for the right candidate.

Location

Based in Lagos, on site with the unit. Hours follow the publishing rhythm, including some evening posting windows shared across the unit. LekeeLekee is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

Who we are looking for

Experience

  • Typically 4 to 8 years in a newsroom, social video desk, digital publisher or content studio, with at least two running a team and a publishing schedule.
  • A track record of shipping a high-volume content calendar to a number, week after week.
  • Hands-on with short-form vertical video: scripted it, directed it, cut it or presented it.
  • Native to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook and Snapchat as a publisher.
  • Comfortable with analytics: completion, comments and click-through change your calendar.
  • Deep familiarity with Nigerian politics, entertainment, sport and internet culture, at home and in the diaspora.

Attributes

  • Organised to the hour. The calendar is never late, and neither is the report.
  • Decisive about quality. You will send a piece back at 5pm on a Thursday if it fails the gate, and explain why.
  • A coach, not a bottleneck.
  • A writer. Clear scripts, clear briefs, a clear playbook.
  • Calm under a daily deadline. Twenty pieces a week is a rhythm, not a crisis.
  • Culturally fluent and editorially sound.

How To Apply

Show us the work. A calendar you have run, a number you have hit and a team you have made better. Tell us what you would change about our socials in the first month. Send your CV, your portfolio or reel, and a short note on which pillar you would own first and why.
