WHEN TRUTH BECOMES DISCOURAGING

1 Timothy 2:1-3 KJV
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; [2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

As long as Jesus tarries, only truth is permitted to produce the right result here on earth. People may ignore it or mock it but it remains the unchangeable factor for success. This is one of the understandings we gain through the fact that Jesus is the Truth. Being the only One who ever lived on earth without committing sin, and who defeated sin in the flesh, it follows that we cannot achieve the best and perfect results in life without working according to His principles. It is a thing of mockery that many ignorant churchgoers and believers, lacking wisdom and a good foundation in the Word, would conclude that praying for Nigeria is a waste of time simply because they have not seen the changes they expected. Many feel it is foolishness to pray because ignorance took over their sense of reasoning. Instead of them asking why the right tool is not working, they cast the blame on the tool. You should understand that the same rod that worked miracles in the hand of Elisha can become ordinary in the hand of Gehazi (2 Kings 4:31).
It was prayer that saved Peter from being beheaded by Herod (Acts 12:111) but a generation who will never look at the cause of a problem will mock the Church for their calamity. The same prayer that saved David from the onslaught and mutiny of Absalom is what the shallow minded Churchgoers criticize today when they are worse than the people in government (2 Samuel 15:31, 2 Samuel 17:14). They forget that prayer most times is potent in the mouth of men who do not indulge in sin. But they continue in sin and are expecting grace to abound. How do you want to get salvation from the God you insult, embarrass and allow people to blaspheme through immorality and sin? How do you expect God to stand for you against people that are doing the same thing that you are doing? You indulge in sin in your small space but want God to kill those that indulge in sin also, just because they are in government.
In as much as the mercy of God can produce answers, you should know that God will not break His word because of you. He said disobedience or whatever you dont like will be avenged when you decide to become obedient also.
2 Corinthians 10:6
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Beloved, when you pray and do not get results, check if you and many of your fellow critics of prayer are as worse as the people you are praying against. However, the prayer of the saint is still responsible for the things we enjoy now, otherwise, it would have been worse. The truth remains that prayer is never the problem but he who prays. It is the fervent prayers of the righteous that avail much and not of sinners.
