WHY MUST THE GOSPEL INCLUDE THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS?

The gospel is not simply a promise that life will become easier. Peter proclaimed Jesus as both Lord and Christ. To receive the gospel is to recognise who Jesus is and respond to His call, not merely seek benefits from Him.
