2027: Oyo ADC Guber Candidate, Adegoke, Woos Ibadan Baales with Promises of LG Autonomy, Better Welfare

Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA), has assured traditional Baales across Ibadanland of his commitment to implementing full local government autonomy, improved remuneration for community leaders and urban renewal if elected governor in 2027.

Adegoke gave the assurance on Friday during a strategic engagement with members of the Association of Traditional Baales, comprising community leaders across the 11 local government areas in Ibadanland, the Oyo State capital.

The ADC governorship candidate described local government autonomy, improved welfare for traditional community leaders and urban renewal as critical components of grassroots development, noting that effective local administration would strengthen economic activities and improve service delivery at the community level.

He further stated that his proposed administration would prioritise policies aimed at strengthening local economies, creating safer communities and providing healthier living environments for residents across the state.

According to him, the proposed initiatives would form key pillars of his development agenda if given the mandate to govern Oyo State in the 2027 general elections.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the governorship candidate to interact with traditional community leaders, discuss grassroots challenges and communicate his vision for local government administration and community development.

Adegoke's engagement with the Ibadan Baales comes amid political activities and consultations by various political actors ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
