STOP LOOKING FOR YOURSELF IN OTHER PEOPLE:- FINDING YOURSELF — EPISODE 3

You can admire someone without abandoning yourself.

Have you noticed how easy it is to become dissatisfied with your life simply because you have seen what someone else is doing?

You were happy with your progress until you saw your friend's achievements.

You were excited about your business until you discovered how much someone else was making.

You were comfortable with your appearance until social media introduced you to someone who looked different.

You were enjoying your journey until you saw how far someone else had travelled.

Suddenly, what was once enough no longer seems sufficient.

Nothing necessarily changed about your life. What changed was the person you started comparing yourself with.

"Comparison has a way of making you feel poor in the presence of someone else's wealth, unsuccessful in the presence of someone else's achievements, and inadequate in the presence of someone else's gifts."

And if you are not careful, you will spend your entire life chasing a version of success that was never meant to define you.

THE DANGER OF BORROWED IDENTITIES

One of the greatest threats to self-discovery is imitation without understanding.

You see someone succeeding in business, and suddenly you want to become an entrepreneur.

You see someone gaining recognition in ministry, and you begin to question your own calling.

You see someone enjoying a beautiful marriage, and you start despising your season of singleness.

You see someone travelling around the world, and you begin to feel that your life is standing still.

But here is something we often forget:

"You are comparing the visible results of someone else's journey with the private realities of your own."

You don't know their full story.

You don't know their sacrifices, struggles, opportunities, responsibilities or the price they paid to arrive where they are.

And even if you knew everything about their journey, it still wouldn't mean you were supposed to travel the same road.

ADMIRATION IS NOT AN ASSIGNMENT

There is nothing wrong with admiring successful people.

We need examples. We need mentors. We need people whose lives challenge us to think bigger and become better.

But admiration becomes dangerous when it turns into imitation without discernment.

"Learn from people's principles without necessarily copying their personalities."

Learn their discipline, but discover your own rhythm.

Learn their courage, but pursue your own convictions.

Learn their strategies, but understand your own assignment.

You can celebrate someone's success without making their destination your own.

The world does not need another poorly manufactured copy of someone who already exists.

It needs the contribution that only you can make.

YOUR DIFFERENCE MAY BE YOUR ADVANTAGE

Sometimes, the very things you are trying to change about yourself are the things that make you valuable.

Your perspective may be different.

Your abilities may be unusual.

Your personality may not fit the popular mould.

Your journey may be slower than you expected.

But different does not automatically mean defective.

"You don't have to become someone else to become significant."

God did not distribute the same gifts, personalities, opportunities and assignments to everybody.

And that is not an injustice. It is part of the beauty of human diversity.

Imagine a world where everyone wanted to sing, but nobody wanted to build the auditorium.

Where everyone wanted to lead, but nobody wanted to develop the systems.

Where everyone wanted to be celebrated, but nobody wanted to do the quiet work that makes greatness possible.

We would have a world full of ambition but desperately lacking in contribution.

Your value is not determined by how closely your life resembles someone else's.

RUN YOUR OWN RACE

There is a difference between being inspired by someone's progress and being intimidated by it.

Inspiration says, "If they could grow, perhaps I can grow too."

Comparison says, "If I am not where they are, something must be wrong with me."

One motivates you to develop.

The other pressures you to pretend.

You cannot fully develop the person you were created to be while constantly rehearsing the life of somebody else.

So stop measuring your worth by another person's timeline.

Stop despising your small beginnings because someone else is enjoying a bigger platform.

Stop changing your dreams every time someone announces a new achievement.

And please, stop allowing social media to convince you that everyone is succeeding except you.

People usually post their highlights, not their entire lives.

Celebrate others. Learn from them. Be genuinely happy for their progress.

But don't forget to build your own life.
