"BAIL IS FREE!” — CROSS RIVER POLICE BOSS, CP AJO GEOFFREY WARNS NIGERIANS

Cross River State Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, has reiterated that bail is free, warning that anyone who offers bribes to influence police matters could also face police action.

Speaking during his familiarisation tour of the Ogoja Area Command Headquarters on October 15, 2026, the CP addressed the issue after the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ogoja Branch, raised a question about the practice.

His message? Police officers should not be pressured with inducements, and those offering bribes are not exempt from the consequences.
