IMF, World Bank release framework to tackle digital financial fraud

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) have released a framework to help countries prevent and tackle cyber-enabled fraud in digital financial services.

The framework, known as the Bangkok Blueprint, sets out 12 key considerations to help countries identify vulnerabilities and develop coordinated responses to fraud involving digital financial services.

IMF and WBG managements released the blueprint in collaboration with the Bank of Thailand during the 2026 IMF–World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, Thailand.
