SOMETHING HAPPENED TO ME TODAY, AND I COULDN’T KEEP QUIET! 😳💔
Today, I went for my baby's immunization with a friend. On our way back, we met a man who started making comments about us giving birth to girls.
He said something along the lines of, “Why are you people giving birth to girls? Your husbands will eventually chase you out of their houses. Why didn't you give birth to boys?” 😳
I looked at him and asked, “So, does that mean a girl child is not a child too?”
Honestly, I couldn't understand his reasoning. Why should anyone make a mother feel bad simply because she gave birth to a girl?
People around us also challenged him. They asked him, “Do you know these women? Do you live in their houses? How do you know they don't have boys at home? Do you even know if these are their first, second, or last children?”
And I said to myself, WHY DO SOME PEOPLE THINK LIKE THIS IN THIS DAY AND AGE? 🤦♀️
Let me make something clear: A girl child is not a mistake. She is not a disappointment. She is not less valuable than a boy. SHE IS A BLESSING! ❤️
A girl can grow up to become a doctor, a lawyer, a businesswoman, a leader, or even the person who changes her family's story forever.
And even if a child never becomes any of these things, that child still deserves love, dignity, and acceptance.
The problem is not whether a woman gives birth to a boy or a girl. The problem is the mindset that makes people believe one gender is more valuable than the other.
PLEASE, LET US STOP PUTTING PRESSURE ON MOTHERS BECAUSE OF THE SEX OF THEIR BABIES. They deserve congratulations, support, and love, not hurtful comments.
Now, let me ask you something:
If a woman gives birth to five girls and no boy, has she failed as a mother? YES OR NO? AND WHY?
