POWER OF VALUES
Genesis 25:30-33 KJV
[30] And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. [31] And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. [32] And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? [33] And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
The respect or honour you give to a thing is a function of the value it can provide. No man dissipates energy or wastes his time on things that have no value. This is why life should be lived based on the understanding of the value of things. The Bible says that Esau sold his birthright to Jacob because of food, which he later regretted. This is because he did not know the value of the birthright. If he had known, he would never toy with such ideas. He came back to his senses when he realized that a day of blessing was attached to it.
Beloved, it is important you take into consideration the cost of what you do so you do not sell what is expensive at a cheap price. Jesus said if you will build a house, you should count the cost to know the value and effect on you so you do not start and end up discouraged eventually.
Luke 14:28-30 KJV
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? [29] Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, [30] Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
He went further to say that you cannot be fighting against someone and not look at the worth of the person when it has to do with ability and ammunition.
Beloved, every action has its cost and effect. You need to be sensitive and conscious of taking steps that will produce great results. You must never take for granted certain things that have the potential to create a big loss in your life. If there is anything that you should take seriously and see as the most valuable thing to your destiny, it should be your spiritual life. It is in God that you can access a life so great that cannot be matched because in God is the potential to do what eyes have not seen.
1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
If you want to live a life that is heavyweight, you can only get that done by having the glory of God rested on your life. Glory is the weight of God that makes you a heavyweight. Let your spiritual life be sound so you can be a man of value in your generation.
Daily Task
Mention why people do not weigh things before they do them.
Prayers
1. Father, help me to understand how to value things.
2. May I never lose any valuables in my life.
