🚨JUST IN: “₦66 PETROL DISCOUNT WILL BRING RELIEF TO NIGERIANS” — FG

BUT HOW MUCH RELIEF CAN ₦66 REALLY BRING? AND WHY NOW?

The Federal Government says its 30-day petrol discount will provide relief to Nigerians amid rising fuel prices.

Information Minister Mohammed Idris is defending the initiative, but Nigerians have questions.

Let's talk about the reality on the ground. 👇

If petrol is selling for over ₦1,300 per litre, will reducing the price by ₦66 suddenly make transportation, food and other essential goods affordable again?

Yes, saving ₦66 per litre is better than saving nothing. Someone buying 40 litres could save ₦2,640.

But what about the millions of Nigerians who don't own cars and depend on commercial buses, keke and motorcycles every day?

Will transport fares come down too? Or will commuters continue paying the same fares despite the discount?

And here's another question Nigerians are asking:

Why is this relief coming now, when the pressure of high fuel prices has already affected household budgets and businesses?

The government says NNPC Retail is giving up its profit margin to cushion the impact of rising fuel prices, insisting that this is not a return to fuel subsidy.

Fair enough. But Nigerians want to see results, not just announcements.

A 30-day discount is temporary. The cost of living is a daily struggle.

Nigerians are asking:
🔴 Is ₦66 per litre enough to make a meaningful difference?
đź”´ Will the discount reach ordinary commuters and small business owners?
đź”´ Will transport fares and food prices reflect the reduction?
đź”´ What happens when the 30 days are over?

Nobody is saying ₦66 is worthless. The real question is whether this temporary measure will translate into genuine relief for ordinary Nigerians.

OVER TO YOU, NIGERIANS!

Is the FG's ₦66 petrol discount meaningful relief, or is it too little compared with the burden Nigerians are carrying?

And why now?

Drop your honest opinion in the comments. Let's discuss the issue that affects every Nigerian household. 👇
