She wore the uniform with pride,
knowing how proud
her father would have been.
Knowing how proud
her mother was.
Knowing how proud
her nation would be.

Beautiful souls.
Pearls of a generation.
Loved and cared for
by loving mothers .
They were daughters first.
Daughters always.

They are at home now,
resting in the palms of heaven.
And they will always be
Our beautiful souls.
Our pearls.
Our daughters.

Damn, they will always be missed.
Not just today.
Not just this month.
But every time a plane lifts into the sky,
every time a daughter laughs,
every time a mother lights a candle
they will be missed.
And they will be remembered.
