Nyesom Wike’s Son in $2.1 Million Land Fraud, Asked by Court to Produce America Passport

The court ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike to produce his American passport after he said he was outside Nigeria on 26 September 2025 — the date claimants say $2.1 million changed hands in Abuja. His lawyer did not oppose the order. He denies the deal and says his signature was forged.

The sharper problem is the bench. Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court, Maitama, is from Obio/Akpor LGA in Rivers State — Wike’s LGA. Prof. Chidi Odinkalu has publicly called on him to recuse himself, saying he is “reputedly related to the Wikes” and that the court as constituted cannot deliver the appearance of justice.

A stamp can be checked. Airline manifests, NIS logs and UK border data can confirm or destroy a travel story in an afternoon. A judge from the minister’s backyard sitting on a case where the minister’s name is allegedly attached to a $2 million facilitation fee is harder to explain away.

On the claimants’ own story they walked up to a minister’s son with $2.1 million in cash. If that is true, they have described a crime in open court. If it is false, it is a shakedown. Either way, nobody walks in with clean hands.

Justice must not only be done. It must be seen to be done.
