Tsunami of Ovation in Church as Soludo Recognises, Embraces And Ushers Peter Obi to The Front Seat
It's all over the place as a viral video: Soludo recognizing Obi, embracing him, ushering him to the front seat, congregation erupting at the mention of Obi's name. There's even a pattern here: the same script played out at the Nnewi Cathedral dedication earlier this year (polite applause for the governor, volcanic ovation for Obi). Receipts attached below the post.
In church on Sunday, Governor Soludo acted better. He recognized Peter Obi, embraced him, and ushered him to the front seat. No protocol wahala, no cold shoulder — just honour given where honour is due, in the house of God.
And once again, the congregation preached the loudest sermon of the day. The uproar at the mere mention of Obi's name said everything words could not say. This is not the first time either — at the Nnewi Cathedral dedication earlier this year, the same script played out: polite applause for the governor, volcanic ovation for Obi.
How I wish Soludo would truly begin to see Obi not as a rival. The people have already made their choice, and no amount of fighting can rewrite it.
He has more to gain embracing Obi as a brother cum friend than fighting him. In the end, history will not remember who sat where — it will remember who stood together.
