THE MAN WHO ALWAYS CAME WITH FLOWERS
Every Friday, a man bought flowers from the same woman.
One day she asked:
"Who are they for?"
He smiled.
"My wife."
"Aww. That's sweet. How long have you been married?"
"Thirty-two years."
"And you still buy her flowers every week?"
"Yes."
She smiled.
Then she noticed something.
He always bought exactly two flowers.
One Friday she asked why.
He looked at her and said:
"One is for my wife."
"And the other?"
He smiled sadly.
"For the woman I promised before she died that I'd never forget."
