EPISODE 3 β EARTH: GODβS KINGDOM COLONY ππ
If God is the King and heaven is His Kingdom, then an important question arises:
Why did God establish human beings on the earth?
Think about how a kingdom establishes a colony. The colony is located in another territory, but it is expected to reflect the authority, culture, values and will of the kingdom that established it.
That gives us a powerful picture of what God intended for the earth.
π Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominionβ¦
God did not create humanity merely to exist on earth.
He created us in His image, gave us dominion, and entrusted us with responsibility over His creation.
So, in simple terms:
π Earth is the territory.
π God is the King.
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Humanity was created to represent Him.
π Godβs Word is the standard of His Kingdom.
ποΈ The Church represents the Kingdom and proclaims its King.
But here is where the story becomes even more interesting:
A colony does not create its own laws independently of the kingdom that established it.
In the same way, God's Kingdom operates according to God's will, not merely human opinions.
That is why Jesus taught us to pray:
π Matthew 6:10
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Notice the connection:
Kingdom β Will β Earth.
Jesus was teaching us to desire God's rule and God's will to be manifested here on earth.
π₯ The question is no longer simply:
Where is God's Kingdom?
The deeper question is:
How does God's Kingdom operate through people on earth?
That is what we will begin to uncover in the next episode.
