Today’s empowering message addresses the ultimate secret to living a victorious, successful, and impactful life: the power of the Holy Ghost.

Too many Christians are struggling, feeling defeated, and failing in their careers, marriages, and ministries because they are trying to face life’s battles using only their limited human strength.

But Daddy delivers a beautiful truth: the moment the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you receive a supernatural infusion of strength, boldness, and capacity that completely bypasses human limitations.

1. The Turnaround Power of the Spirit

The devotional points out that the Holy Spirit has the supernatural ability to turn cowards into mighty giants and weaklings into massive terrors to the kingdom of darkness.

To show us this, Pastor contrasts two seasons in the life of Apostle Peter:

The Season of Fear: Before receiving the Holy Spirit, Peter was so terrified of association with Jesus that he denied even knowing Him when a simple maidservant pointed him out. He, along with the other disciples, spent his days hiding from the religious authorities of his day.
The Season of Boldness: The moment the Holy Spirit descended on them, everything changed. In our Bible reading, we see Peter standing directly before the very high priest and council who had threatened his life, boldly declaring that he must obey God rather than men.
2. The Limits of Human Strength: UNILAG Testimony

To show us that this power is not just for the ancient apostles, Daddy shares a highly relatable personal testimony from his days at university. After he got born again at the University of Lagos in 1973, he felt a burning desire to share the love of Christ with his Head of Department, Professor Chike Obi. Professor Obi was the greatest mathematician Africa had ever produced and a very good man, but he did not know Jesus.

One Sunday evening, after a church service where the congregation was challenged to go out and win souls, Daddy resolved: “When I get to the office tomorrow, I’ll preach to my Head of Department”. However, when Monday morning came, Pastor walked in, said a simple “Good morning, sir,” and was so frozen by fear at how the professor thanked him that he literally ran out of the office!

It was only after Daddy Adeboye was baptised in the Holy Spirit that he received the supernatural boldness to return and preach to his brilliant HOD. That same baptism gave him the power to win souls, plant churches, and win in life.

As Zechariah 4:6 reminds us, it is “not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts”. Trying to navigate life on your own strength is a recipe for failure, but partnering with the Holy Spirit guarantees a positive outcome.

Relating This to Your Everyday Life
It is incredibly easy to try and run our modern lives on the fuel of our own intelligence, connections, or hard work. You might be struggling to manage a stressful business, raise your children in a challenging world, or stand up for your Christian values in a highly toxic or corrupt office environment.

When you rely on your own “might”:

You easily get exhausted, overwhelmed, and burnt out.
You stay quiet when you know you should speak up, paralyzed by what people might think of you.
You hit human limitations and find yourself failing despite your best efforts.
To deepen our understanding of this spiritual fuel, let us look at two scriptures not mentioned in the devotional:

2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Fear is a spiritual chain, but the Holy Spirit is the breaker of that chain. Boldness is your birthright.
Judges 15:14-15: When the Philistines came shouting against Samson, the Bible records that the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him. Instantly, the thick ropes on his arms melted like burnt flax, and he defeated a thousand enemies with the jawbone of a donkey.
Life Example:

Imagine a Christian corporate professional who is terrified of public speaking or presenting to senior executives. They spend weeks preparing, sweating, and losing sleep, yet their presentations still fall flat because of their anxiety. But if that professional pauses, prays, and invites the Holy Spirit to take over their mind and tongue before they step into the meeting room, a supernatural calm takes over. They speak with an unusual wisdom and clarity that leaves their audience in absolute awe. That is the Holy Spirit injecting supernatural excellence into your ordinary career!

Action Steps
Acknowledge Your Limitations: Stop trying to figure everything out on your own. Explicitly say to God today: “Father, I admit that my own strength is not enough. I cannot run this business, raise these children, or handle this career giant without Your Spirit.”
