LET’S BE HONEST… WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Imagine your relative is married, but you discover that their partner is physically abusive and both families already know about it. 😔
Everyone keeps saying, “It’s their marriage, let them settle it.”
But how long should family members stay quiet when someone is being hurt?
Should the families come together and intervene?
Should they remove the person from the situation?
Or should they respect the couple’s privacy and stay out of it?
Marriage may be private, but violence should never be treated as a private family matter.

Mimi: Family intervention is necessary especially when it comes to domestic violence. Marriage is not a secret cult that can only be handled by the people inside. If Both of them are finding it difficult to handle their issues, family will definitely come in.

Deraa: If na my family, I no go just fold my hands and say na their marriage. I’d make sure the person is safe first and involve trusted family members or the appropriate support when necessary. Violence no be matter wey person should ignore. ❤️
