For example the Hausa-Fulani political elite's argument for power to return to the north in 2027 is that by then the north would've held presidential power for only 11 years out of the total 28 years since the return to democratic government in 1999.

Fair. But did Nigeria only come into existence in 1999? Which region dominated power since 1960 to 1999?

Conversely the South's argument for power retention in 2027 is that it should be allowed to complete its turn of 8 years after Buhari's 8 years in the spirit of North-South power rotation.

Again, fair argument. Until the Southeast asks for a share of the South's slot in the spirit of fairness. The goalpost then suddenly shifts!

Same thing when the North says it's its turn, I as a Christian from the same north isn't in their reckoning.
