HOW MANY LITRES OF WATER HAVE YOU DRUNK TODAY?
A plant that goes without water slowly droops, loses its colour, and struggles to stand tall. The human body is no different. So today, I want to ask you one simple question: how many litres of water have you drunk today?
Why am I asking? The reason is simple. As I mentioned earlier, this week is all about encouraging one another to stay healthy, and staying hydrated is a big part of that. Water makes up around 60% of an adult's body weight, and almost everything your body does depends on it. It helps regulate your temperature, carry nutrients to your cells, cushion your joints, support digestion, and allow your kidneys to remove waste through urine.
When we do not drink enough fluids, we may become dehydrated. The body often gives us gentle warnings first: thirst, tiredness, headache, difficulty concentrating, and darker coloured urine. In a warm climate like ours, we lose even more water through sweat, especially during physical activity or long exposure to heat. This is why replacing what we lose matters so much.
So let this message be a soft reminder to drink enough fluids throughout the day. If your answer to today's question is "not enough," it is not too late. Have a glass of water now, and keep a bottle nearby so you can sip regularly. More nutrition knowledge coming soon. Drop your questions in the comments.
