The U.S. banking system is quietly moving blockchain into its core infrastructure.

The Clearing House has selected Quant to power a network for clearing and settling tokenized bank deposits, with the system expected to become available to participating institutions in 2027.

This is bigger than another crypto experiment.

Tokenized deposits essentially put traditional bank money onto blockchain infrastructure—while keeping the deposits as liabilities of regulated banks.

The potential is significant:

• Faster settlement
• 24/7 liquidity movement
• Programmable payments
• More efficient corporate treasury
• Potentially smoother cross-border transactions

The interesting part is that banks aren't necessarily being replaced by blockchain.

They are using blockchain to upgrade banking.

The next financial revolution may therefore not be crypto replacing the banking system.

It may be the banking system quietly becoming programmable.
