DISHONESTY DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN IN ONE PLACE.

It can show up at work, at home, and at school.

At work, it may look like taking what doesn’t belong to you because you think, “Nobody is watching.”

At home, it may look like hiding the truth, taking something that isn’t yours, or making excuses to avoid responsibility.

At school, it may look like cheating, copying someone else’s work, or telling a lie because you think you can get away with it.

But here is something we must teach our children — and remind ourselves:

Honesty is not only about what we say.
It is about what we do, even when nobody is watching.

Character is revealed in the little choices we make when there is no applause, no punishment, and no one checking.

Today, let’s ask ourselves:

Am I teaching honesty with my words but modelling dishonesty with my actions?

And as parents, teachers, leaders and members of society, let’s remember:

Children are watching.

Let’s model the values we want them to carry into their homes, schools, workplaces and eventually into society.

Choose honesty.
Build trust.
Build character.
