HEALING IS YOURS (9)
In Luke 9, he gave authority to disciples
When he rose from the dead, he was fulfilling the pophecy in Psalm 110:1.
Psalm 110:1, By the resurrection, he fulfilled the prophecy of the prophets as touching the authority he would have / receive by virtue of his resurrection.
1st Peter 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto you: Vs 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Vs 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
Mark 16:17-20 are Signs of the power that Jesus gave the church.
Acts 3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Vs 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have, give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk…
Vs 16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Acts 5:15 In somuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid [them] on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. Vs 16 There came also a multitude [out] of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Notice that no one was required to be saved before healing was ministered to them.
Healing is free. It is God's way of showing his mercy to the sinner. It is a sign, but is not the gospel.
Acts 6 talks about Stephen which did great signs and wonders.
Acts 8:7 They were not healed because they were saved. They were healed and then saved.
All we have read so far are miracles. In all, power was demonstrated. Demonstration based on fact that Jesus rose from the dead and gave authority over sicknesses and disease, which we have by identification.
So, the healing ministry of Jesus is the healing ministry of the church. By virtue of that, there is power made available to cure sicknesses and diseases.
In Paul’s epistles, physical healing is classified with one word; 1 Corinthians 12:28. calls it gifts of healing- the miraculous endowment to heal without condition. It deals with the power of God and shows the character of God
1 Corinthians 12:9,11- Healing is given as gift of the spirit. The gifts in the spirit are a work of redemption. Healing is given to us today by the gift of healing; James 5:14
In Galatians 3, he talks about miracles, but it is a general word.
But then, we have the gift of the working of miracles.
Just like Jesus, the church has been endowed with healing power.
Two out of five times when Jesus healed the sick in scriptures, he cast out demons. The gift of healings will drive out sickness and diseases and bring about a healing and a cure. A believer today can take authority over sickness and diseases. He can minister the healing power. There can be diverse methods where people can receive.
What Jesus gave us is the spirit. That unconditional mercy of God that comes in the demonstration of his power is called gifts of healing. Healing is a free gift of God.

Put to practice your healing ability by going out to lay your hands on the sick.
