Heaven’s Chief Prosecutor
Most people will tell you Lucifer was the worship leader of heaven, the angel in charge of the choir, the one with the instruments.
But that’s not what the text actually says.
His name means Light-Bringer.

His actual assignment?

To bring things to light.
In Genesis he exposed the vulnerability of Adam and Eve.

In Job he stood as the accuser.

In Zechariah he prosecuted the high priest.

In the Gospels he tested the Son of God Himself.
“Satan” is not his name.

It’s a title.

A legal title.

Hebrew for prosecutor.
Lucifer wasn’t heaven’s music director.

He was heaven’s district attorney, the one whose job was to uphold the law by charging those who broke it.
That’s why he had to be perfect.

Blameless.

Beyond reproach.

Because the one who brings the sins of others into the light cannot afford to have any darkness of his own.
Until pride made him the first defendant.
