Have you ever felt like you are running on empty, or that a beautiful dream you once cherished has become completely dry and lifeless?

1. Moving from Ordinary to Extraordinary
The devotional reminds us of the very creation of humanity in Genesis 2:7. Before God stepped in, Adam was nothing more than a cold, lifeless lump of clay. He had form, but he had no function; he had a body, but he had no life. However, the very moment God breathed His divine breath into his nostrils, Adam became a living soul. He immediately came alive, walked, spoke, and began to name the animals.

Look at the prophet Ezekiel’s visit to the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37:1-10. These bones were not just dead; they were scattered, extremely dry, and completely powerless. From a human standpoint, restoration was an absolute impossibility.

Yet, God did not abandon them. He commanded the prophet to speak His Word and call forth the divine breath. The moment the breath of the Almighty entered those bones, a supernatural shaking occurred. Bones came together, flesh and sinews covered them, and they stood up as an exceeding great army. Daddy Adeboye uses this to show us that no matter how dead, dry, or scattered your current situation looks, a single gush of God’s breath can turn your tragedy into a triumphant force.

3. Restarting Your Stalled Projects
It also addresses a very practical issue that many of us face: stalled visions. In Ezra 5 and 6, we read about the Israelites who returned to Jerusalem to rebuild God’s temple. They started with great joy, but because of fierce opposition from their hostile neighbours, the work was forcibly halted, and the project was abandoned for years (Ezra 4:24).

The situation seemed completely stuck until God sent His prophets, Haggai and Zechariah. When these men began to prophesy in the name of the God of Israel, their words released the breath of God over the people. Suddenly, the discouragement vanished, the stalled work resumed, and the temple was successfully completed and dedicated. Daddy assures us that when God breathes on a lifeless or abandoned project, it will instantly come back to life and succeed.

Going Deeper: The Breath of the Spirit
To understand this devotional on a deeper level, let us look at two scriptures not mentioned in the text:

Job 33:4: “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” This scripture reminds us that our physical and spiritual existence is sustained daily by His breath. When you feel spiritually weak or exhausted, you do not need to struggle harder; you simply need to inhale His presence.
Acts 2:1-4: When the day of Pentecost had fully come, the Holy Spirit descended upon the fearful disciples as a “rushing mighty wind”—which is the ultimate physical manifestation of God’s breath. In an instant, those timid, hiding disciples were breathed upon, and they emerged as bold world-changers who turned nations upside down.
Life Example:

Think of a flat, deflated balloon lying on a table. It is made of colorful rubber, but it has no shape, no beauty, and it cannot fly. It is completely useless. But the moment you blow your breath into it, it expands, takes shape, rises, and floats gracefully in the air.

That balloon is a picture of many believers today. We have potential, but we are spiritually deflated by the trials of life. We are trying to “fly” in our own strength. What we need is for God to do spiritual CPR on our souls—to breathe His Holy Spirit afresh into our hearts so we can rise above our challenges and float in our divine destiny.

Relating This to Your Everyday Life
What is the “stalled temple” in your life today?

Is it a business or career that has completely plateaued, leaving you frustrated?
Is it a marriage that has become cold, dry, and silent—resembling a valley of dry bones?
