SHADOWS OF BETRAYAL

Episode 1 – The Promise

The village of Umudike was alive with celebration. Drums echoed through the air as children danced and women sang. At the center of the celebration stood Tunde Okafor, a hardworking young man who had just returned from Lagos after years of struggling to build a successful construction company.
Everyone admired him because he never forgot where he came from. His first visit was to his widowed mother.
"Mama, I promised Papa before he died that I would change this family forever," Tunde said, kneeling before her.
His mother smiled with tears in her eyes.
"God has answered my prayers, my son."
Standing beside Tunde was his childhood best friend, Emeka, who had always been treated like family. Unknown to everyone, Emeka secretly envied Tunde's success.
That evening, the village elders announced that the government had approved a multi-billion-naira road construction project. Every company wanted the contract, but Tunde's company had the highest chance of winning.
The crowd applauded.
Only Emeka remained silent.
Later that night...
Emeka sat alone in a small bar, staring at a bottle of beer.
"Why is it always Tunde? We started together... but he's the one everyone celebrates."
A mysterious wealthy businessman named Chief Odili walked over.
"I can make you richer than your friend."
Emeka looked up.
"What do I have to do?"
Chief Odili smiled.
"Become his closest enemy... without him knowing."
The screen fades to black.
Just before the credits roll...
Tunde receives a phone call.
"Congratulations, Mr. Okafor. You've won the government contract."
At that exact moment...
Emeka watches from the darkness with cold eyes.
"Congratulations... my friend," he whispers. "Enjoy it while it lasts."
