Episode 12 — Someone We Know
Daniel and Amara rushed to Sophia's house.

She was waiting by the door with several old documents spread across the table.
“I found the name,” Sophia said.
Daniel picked up one of the papers.
His eyes widened.
“No…”
Amara looked at him.
“Who is it?”
Daniel slowly turned the document toward her.
The name was written clearly.
Richard Williams.
Amara's heart dropped.
“But Richard is already in prison.”
“I know,” Sophia said. “That's what makes this strange.”
She pointed at the dates.
“These transactions happened years before we even knew what Richard was doing.”
Daniel frowned.
“So he was involved in this too?”
Sophia shook her head.
“Not alone.”
She pulled out another document.
“There was someone helping him move the money.”
Amara looked at the name.
Then she froze.
“No.”
Daniel immediately noticed her expression.
“Amara?”
She couldn't speak.
The name belonged to someone she had trusted for years.
Her mother's younger brother.
“My uncle?” she whispered.
Sophia nodded.
“But there's something else.”
She handed Amara a final document.
“This was found among your father's things.”
Amara opened it.
It was a letter addressed to her.
Her hands trembled as she read:
“Amara, if you ever discover the truth, don't blame your mother. She was protecting you.”
Amara looked at her mother.
“Mummy… what were you protecting me from?”
Her mother started crying.
Daniel reached for Amara's hand.
“I've got you.”
She squeezed his hand.
Then her mother whispered,
“Your uncle wasn't the person your father was afraid of.”
Everyone went silent.
“Then who was he afraid of?” Daniel asked.
Her mother looked directly at him.
“Your father.”
Daniel's face went pale.
