WHY DO CHILDREN HIDE THEIR FEELINGS

These are the common reasons children may hide their feelings
Fear of being judged either by parents, friends, siblings etc
Fear of punishment
Lack of words to express how they feel
Past experiences – If their feelings were ignored before, they may learn that speaking up doesn't help.
They are taught to suppress emotions – Messages like “stop crying” or “be strong” can make children feel that expressing emotions is wrong.
Remember their silence maybe an indication that something is wrong.
What is your advice to parents, teachers etc.

CalmWithMama: As for me I will advise parents to always listen to these children. Don't be too busy to ask them questions like, what is the problem?

Victory Amarachi: Sometimes children are not hiding their feelings because they don’t trust us; they simply don’t know how to express what they’re going through. We need to create a safe space where they can talk without fear of being judged or punished. ❤️
