As you start your day remember Jesus’ command: “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning” (Luke 12:35). The Christian life requires continual spiritual readiness. We do not know the exact time of Christ’s return, but we know that He will come. Therefore, we must remain watchful and faithful. Do not allow disappointment, delay, temptation, or worldly comfort to extinguish your spiritual fire. Continue praying when answers seem delayed. Continue believing when circumstances are difficult. Continue serving when nobody appreciates you. Continue pursuing holiness when sin appears attractive. Our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed (Romans 13:11). The journey is moving toward its glorious destination. Keep your eyes on Jesus and your heart prepared for His coming. May the Lord find you faithful when He returns. Keep your lamp burning and never give up.
