THE LOVE WE FINALLY FOUND

Episode 6 — The Truth About Clara
Amara stared at Daniel.
“What truth?”
Daniel sighed.
“I didn't want to bring our past back into our relationship.”
“But it keeps coming back.”
He nodded.
“You're right.”
They sat down.
Daniel finally explained.
“Before Clara disappeared, she discovered something about our family. She found out that someone had been using her name to access an account that belonged to our father.”
Amara frowned.
“Who?”
“We never found out.”
“And Sophia knows about this?”
Daniel shook his head.
“No. That's why her message surprised me.”
Amara looked at him.
“Then why is she involved?”
Daniel's phone rang.
It was Clara.
He answered immediately.
“Clara?”
Her voice sounded nervous.
“Daniel, we need to talk.”
“What's wrong?”
“I found something.”
“What?”
“A letter.”
Daniel stood up.
“Where are you?”
“At home.”
“Don't go anywhere. We're coming.”
When they arrived, Clara handed Daniel an old envelope.
“I found it among my things.”
Daniel opened it.
Inside was a photograph of their father standing beside a woman Amara didn't recognize.
Amara looked closely.
“Who is she?”
Clara shook her head.
“I don't know.”
Daniel turned the photograph over.
There was a date written on the back.
Seven years ago.
Underneath it was one sentence:
“She knows what happened.”
Amara looked at Daniel.
“Who is she?”
“I honestly don't know.”
Suddenly, Clara's phone rang.
She answered.
Her expression changed.
“Hello?”
Nobody spoke.
Then the caller hung up.
“What happened?” Amara asked.
Clara showed them the screen.
There was a message.
STOP DIGGING INTO THE PAST.
Daniel's expression hardened.
“This isn't a coincidence.”
Amara looked at him.
“You said this chapter was over.”
“I thought it was.”
She took his hand.
“Then we'll figure it out together.”
Daniel looked at her.
“You're not afraid?”
“I'm terrified.”
He smiled slightly.
“But?”
“But I'm not leaving you alone.”
He pulled her into his arms.
“You really are stubborn.”
“And you're stuck with me.”
He kissed her forehead.
“I wouldn't have it any other way.”
Later that night, Amara received a message from an unknown number.
She opened it.
Her smile disappeared.
It was a photograph of Daniel and Sophia together from years ago.
Underneath it were five words:
“Ask Daniel what he did.”
Amara stared at the screen.
Her heart began racing.
She slowly looked toward Daniel.
He was asleep.
For the first time since they fell in love, Amara wondered if there was something Daniel had never told her.
And this time…
She wasn't sure she wanted to know.
