The Echo of Empty Ink
By Andrew E Achu
The well runs dry, the gears grind slowly,
The crowded mind has nowhere left to go.
We chase the sparks, we force the strain,
Wringing dry the static in the brain.
But maps dissolve where pathways end,
And broken lines refuse to bend.
Then comes the crash, the sudden drop—
The brilliant mercy of the stop.
"When we run out of ideas, silence becomes the idea."
It is not a void, it is not a defeat,
But a holy room where two rivers meet.
The quiet creeps in to sweep the floor,
Closing the window, unlocking the door.
No longer hunting the elusive spark,
We sit within the dark.
In the breathless pause, the static clears,
Drowning out the frantic doubts and fears.
The empty page is no longer a ghost,
But the very space that holds the most.
For in the stillness, deep and profound,
The absence of noise becomes the sound.
