𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝘁𝘁𝗶 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗹, 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Being present at the Solemn Assembly and Covenant Renewal Service at the JAAC Secretariat, Umuahia, on Thursday, 24th September 2026, gave me another opportunity to reflect on the place of faith, gratitude and responsibility in public service.

The gathering, themed “Remembering the Covenant,” followed three days of prayer and fasting and recalled the rededication exercise held after the emergence of our administration in 2023.

Our Governor, His Excellency, Dr Alex C. Otti OFR, spoke from a deeply personal perspective about his faith, his transition from banking into public service and the difficult experiences that accompanied his political journey.
