*The theme of Isaiah 53 was transgressions, sins and iniquity.*
*A major problem is the language issue*.
*Isaiah 53:4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Vs 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Vs 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.*
'By his stripes, we are healed… '
 Griefs
 Sorrows
They were implying that Jesus actually bore the sicknesses.
The question is: how many of all the sicknesses did he bear? The reason is that they couldn't translate it well. The word sorrow is how the Greek translated, it is where we have the word leper.
Matthew 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Matthew didn't hear Jesus say it. He wrote this account after Jesus had risen from the dead.
In Jesus' healing ministry, he wasn't bearing people's sickness on his body. This prophecy was about his sufferings. It couldn't have been referring to his healing ministry.
So, Jesus' healing ministry was to single him out that he will bear the sorrow and grief. His healing ministry is a sign that he is the Christ - that is what Matthew was saying.
Peter spoke about him.
Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
He says God approved him. Jesus was singled out by God anointing him - Luke 4:18,19.
He didn't proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord until his death. The anointing pointed to the fact that he was the one to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Peter explains Isaiah 53 well, he said he bore our sins. No apostle ever said Jesus died for physical sickness. However, based on the redemptive work, healing is available to me..
Has the work of redemption brought healing to our bodies? Yes.

Jesus' healing ministry singled him out, a sign that he was the Christ. The work of redemption has brought healing to my body.
