Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has now unveiled his 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, following in the footsteps of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Many other candidates, including Mr Peter Obi, are yet to announce theirs, but we await them to set up their campaign councils as the presidential election is no longer far away.

The campaign for the 2027 elections has already started, but we are yet to see major campaign rallies and clear agendas from the presidential aspirants for Nigerians. So far, Sowore and Obi are the only candidates who have holistically outlined their manifestos and released them on social media for Nigerians to scrutinise. Atiku has mainly talked about returning fuel subsidies, and I hope he also touches on other areas of his proposed policies.

As for President Tinubu, his current policy direction will likely form a major part of his manifesto. Even without necessarily outlining his campaign promises, Nigerians ought to have an idea of what they are likely to be.
