This view of sorry has been discussed promoted over time. However, another view to it is that, although á broken but patched cup as shown in the picture cannot hold liquid, it can hold water while unpatched pieces cannot hold anything.
Manage it to hold sand even if it can’t hold liquid anymore instead of allowing the pieces to become disastrous to bare feet and tyre🙄
