I’m waiting for the day I’ll see an influencer market a product openly without forcing an ideology they don’t even believe in on their audience.
You’re an influencer. You know the product you’re telling your community to use is not even what you use, yet you go through all the content strategy wahala just to convince them to buy it.
You’re a hypocrite.
Instead of making the decision open-ended, you sound like, “I trust this product so much because I use it.”
Meanwhile, you don’t.
That’s witchcraft. 😂
Then there’s this other set of influencers who don’t even test the products before pushing them to their audience. Brand deals just show up, and they grab them because of the money.
Your own level of wickedness is competing with the devil. 😭
Your followers trust you. They respect your judgment. That’s why they listen to you and, sometimes, spend their hard-earned money on the products you recommend.
So, please, vet the product before advertising it.
Use the product yourself if you must advertise it. Or at the very least, make sure there are genuine people around you who have actually tried it and can vouch for it.
Your influence should mean more than a brand deal.
Stop teaming up with brands to market substandard products simply because the money is good.
