You may have forgotten the little kindness you showed someone. They may still remember it.

A few years ago, I noticed an elderly woman sitting alone outside a grocery store.

She was holding a small bag and looking through her purse over and over again.

I asked if she was okay.

She smiled and said, “I’m fine, dear. I just forgot my wallet.”

I bought the few things she had picked out and handed them to her.

She thanked me, and honestly, I forgot about the whole thing before I even got home.

Years later, I was having a difficult day when someone stopped me unexpectedly.

She looked at me and said, “You probably don't remember me, but you once helped me outside a grocery store. I never forgot that.”

I stood there quietly.

I honestly didn't remember.

She smiled and said,
“You made me feel like I wasn't invisible that day.”

And that stayed with me.

Because sometimes, we think we're just doing something small...
while someone else is quietly adding that moment to a memory they'll carry for years.
