The liver is honestly one of the most
overworked but interesting organs in the
body. It filters toxins, processes medications,
helps digest food, stores nutrients, regulates
chemicals in the body, and still somehow
continues functioning even when it is under
serious stress. Which is part of the reason
many liver diseases go unnoticed for years.
A person can genuinely look healthy while their
liver has been inflamed or damaged for a very
long time. You can be walking around, going to
work, laughing with friends, attending owambe,
posting pictures, making plans for next year,
and your liver has been struggling for years
without you knowing.
And no, liver cancer does not always “just
happen suddenly” the way people think. In
many cases, the liver has been struggling
silently for years before cancer develops.
