As you start your day remember Paul’s instruction: “Let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light” (Romans 13:12). A believer cannot continually embrace darkness while claiming to walk in Christ. God has called us out of darkness into His marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9). Therefore, identify anything that is weakening your relationship with God. It may be dishonesty, bitterness, unforgiveness, immoral thoughts, jealousy, pride, greed, or secret sinful practices. Do not make peace with what Jesus died to deliver you from. Confess your sins and receive God’s cleansing (1 John 1:9). Choose truth instead of deception, purity instead of immorality, forgiveness instead of resentment, and humility instead of pride. As the day of Christ approaches, let your life increasingly reflect the light you have received.
