EDUCATION WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING IS A WASTE

Good afternoon, fam!

For me, if you consider yourself educated but you are still deeply tribalistic, then something is missing.

What is the point of all the degrees and certificates if we still judge people by where they come from instead of their character, competence and contribution?

Education should expand your mind, not narrow it. You can have plenty certificates and still carry a very small mind.

This is one attitude that makes progress difficult in Nigeria. We defend wrongdoing when it comes from “our own” and condemn the same thing when it comes from another tribe.

If we want to move forward, we must learn to see people beyond tribe and judge them by character, competence and integrity.

Being educated is more than what you have in your head. It is also how you think.

Reality Check ✅: I think this is more of a programmed mindset which most times education cannot shift it, especially when it is ideologically driven. We have seen people call out a particular race or region just because someone from that side did something wrong. It them becomes generalised.
