I saw this comment in great shock “Women are evil, so let’s accept that and learn to live with them.”

I strongly disagree with this statement, and I think we should be very careful with words like this.

Women are not evil, just as men are not evil. People are individuals. Some women will hurt you, some will disappoint you, and some will do terrible things. The same is true of men.

A bad experience with some women does not make every woman bad. Generalising an entire gender because of personal experiences only creates more prejudice and makes it harder for us to have meaningful conversations about the real issues.

If someone has been hurt, betrayed or disappointed, that pain is valid. Talk about the person who hurt you. Talk about the behaviour. Talk about the experience. But don’t turn one person’s actions into a judgement against an entire gender.

We should be able to criticize bad behaviour without demonising an entire group of people.

Let’s be careful what we normalize with our words.
