Nigeria’s football administration is facing a major shake-up following the resignation of the 13-member Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board led by Ibrahim Gusau, just 34 days before the end of its tenure. FIFA and CAF have announced a joint fact-finding mission to Abuja and asked that the planned NFF Elective Congress on September 27 be halted pending an assessment of the situation. The development comes amid concerns over Nigeria’s recent failures to qualify for major tournaments and questions surrounding the utilisation of a N12 billion federal intervention fund.
