Music goddess, 58-year-old Celine Dion staged a stunning comeback concert on Saturday, 12 September in Paris La Defense Arena, Europe's largest covered concert venue to an enthusiastic sold-out crowd to kickstart an 8-month residency at the Arena.
Known for her iconic songs like "I'm Alive," "The Power of Love," "It's All Coming Back to Me", Celine took a break from concerts in 2022 when she was diagnosed with the Stiff-Person Syndrome, STS, a rare debilitating and painful neurological disorder which affected both her vocal cords and muscles control.
Born in 1968 in Charlemagne, Quebec, she started music early, performing at her parents' piano bar at age 5.
At 12 her manager, René Angélil, was so wowed by her music demo tape that he mortgaged his house to fund the production of her first album which was launched same year. Of course it was a success.
She and René got married in Notre Dame Basilica in 1994 and had 3 sons.
Life vicissitudes began to dog her steps since 2016, first with the death of her husband that year due to lung cancer followed shortly after by her own brother's death. Then the STS.
Will she reclaim her stardom? The answer is buried in the belly of time.
