*1. Health Alert: Diphtheria outbreak in Abuja*
- * 2 people have di*d * out of 5 lab-confirmed diphtheria cases in the FCT
- FCTA investigated 15 suspected cases. 10 were negative
- The FCT Health team has deployed an Incident Management Team to Karshi and surrounding areas to track contacts, give preventive antibiotics, and do community sensitization in Hausa and Gbagyi
- Officials are warning people NOT to self-treat throat membranes. One child reportedly di*d after a barber tried to cut it
- Symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, neck swelling.
