*Rice Test* —
*Real vs Artificial (Plastic Rice)*

*5 real tests Nigerians use:*

*1. Water Test* - Most reliable
- *Real rice*: Sinks to the bottom of water
- *Plastic rice*: Floats on top
- *How*: Put 1 spoon of rice in a glass of water. Stir. Wait 5 minutes

*2. Fire Test*
- *Real rice*: Burns and smells like burnt paper/wood. Turns black ash
- *Plastic rice*: Melts, forms a sticky ball, smells like burning plastic
- *How*: Use a spoon to hold 5 grains over a candle/fire

*3. Hot Oil Test*
- *Real rice*: Puffs up and cooks normally
- *Plastic rice*: Melts at the bottom of the pot and sticks
- *How*: Fry a small spoon of rice in hot oil

*4. Boiling Test*
- *Real rice*: Water becomes a little cloudy, rice triples in size
- *Plastic rice*: Water stays clear, rice doesn’t get soft, sometimes you see film on top
- *How*: Boil without washing first

*5. Pounding Test*
- *Real rice*: Breaks into powder easily with mortar
- *Plastic rice*: Very hard to pound, feels like stone/plastic
