Women in Nigeria’s 2027 Elections: Where Do We Stand? 🇳🇬

Women remain significantly underrepresented in Nigeria’s political leadership.

Only 3 of 19 presidential candidates are women, while women currently occupy just 19 of 469 seats in the 10th National Assembly — 4 in the Senate and 15 in the House of Representatives.

With 2027 approaching, these figures remind us why women’s meaningful participation in politics matters.
