We Don't Eat GDP

We don't need GDP figures or textbook economics to know how Nigerians are doing.

Go to the market. Ask the trader whose customers are buying less. Ask the family struggling to put food on the table. Ask the worker whose salary finishes before the month does.

The real economy is not what is written on paper. The real economy is what Nigerians can afford to eat, buy and take home.

If GDP is growing but Nigerians have less food on their tables and less money in their pockets, then we must ask a simple question:

Who is benefiting from the growth?

Nigerians don't eat GDP. Nigerians eat food.
