What makes a man responsible: the structure he grew from, or the structure he is building?

A man is often a product of what he witnessed growing up.

If he grew up seeing responsibility, sacrifice, discipline and accountability, those values may become his foundation.

But upbringing is not destiny.

A man can come from a broken home and build a healthy family.
He can come from a disciplined home and still become irresponsible.

At some point, your childhood stops being an explanation and becomes a choice.

The real measure of a man isn't only the structure he inherited. It is the structure he has the courage and discipline to build.

Because you may inherit a foundation—but you are responsible for what you build on it.
