Most people are not suffering because life is hard. They are suffering because they are desperate to become “SOMEBODY.”
You want the expensive car—not because you need it, but because you need people to know you can afford it.
You want the perfect relationship—not necessarily because you are ready to love, but because you want society to believe you are winning.
You chase titles, followers, money, beauty, validation and status, then wonder why you have no peace.
The painful truth?
Many people are not living. They are performing.
Performing for family.
Performing for friends.
Performing for strangers on social media.
Performing for people who probably aren't even thinking about them.
And while trying to prove that you are somebody, you slowly lose the person you actually are.
Maybe the real question isn't “Who do I want to become?”
Maybe it is:
“Who would I be if I stopped trying to impress everybody?”
Because sometimes, the life you are desperately trying to build isn't your dream.
It is your ego asking for applause.
