Why Can't You Sleep?
Hello family, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. For the past few days, I have been quietly observing the beautiful transformation happening on this platform, and it left me asking myself a simple question: how do I fit into all of this? The answer I got was even simpler than the question itself.

Since I am a therapist by profession, I needed to return to the very reason that brought me to this platform seven months ago in the first place: health and wellness. Except this time, it will be dedicated fully to my Leekee Leekee family alone. And since we are all like one big family here, sharing our days, our struggles, and our small wins together, I have decided to call myself your Leekee Leekee Family Therapist.

So today, let us talk about why you cannot sleep. Yes, I know some of us are dealing with this right now, so please do not tell me the topic is not relevant.

What exactly is lack of sleep? Medically, this is referred to as insomnia, and it simply means the difficulty in falling asleep, or staying asleep, at the time your body is meant to be resting.

Picture this. It is 1am. Your body is lying still in bed, but your mind refuses to switch off. You are replaying today's conversation, worrying about tomorrow's meeting, or simply staring quietly at the ceiling for no clear reason at all.

In other words, your eyes are open when they should be closed, and your brain is still working overtime when it should be resting. This can happen at midnight, at 1am, sometimes stretching all the way to 2am or 3am, and it can be genuinely draining, especially when it repeats itself night after night.

If this sounds familiar, your next question is probably, "What is actually causing this?" That is exactly what we will unpack together in my next post.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to drop them in the comments section. I read every single one, and I am always here for my family.

Gladden Ngozi: This is such a welcome initiative! 👏🏽

I love the idea of having a ‘Lekeelekee Family Therapist’ who brings health and wellness conversations closer to us in such a relatable way. Sleep is something many people struggle with, yet we often overlook it until it starts affecting our daily lives.
