The Super Falcons are out of the race for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup after a devastating 2–1 defeat to South Africa in Casablanca.

For the first time since the Women’s World Cup began in 1991, Nigeria will not be there.

That means the Super Falcons’ incredible streak of appearing at every single edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup has finally come to an end.
